Solar Thermal Power Production
Liddell Power Station, located in Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley, NSW, produces enough power for over 1 million Australian homes every year. For 30 years the power station has burnt coal, turning water to steam in order to drive turbines. A new installation will pre-heat the water, dramatically decreasing the amount of coal used.
This video describes the new solar thermal power station at Liddell, including its benefits and drawbacks.
